The princess and the naga
This long legend is a family saga of sorts. It begins with the daughter of a rich man, and poor beggar who is mute. They marry, but do not get along. They are reborn: She as a princess; he as a naga prince. (Nagas are the mystical dragon-like creatures that live at the bottom of the Mekong.) He transforms himself into human form, and they meet again.
